Unidirectional Fabric

Warp-knitted composites are widely used in the aviation industry, shipbuilding industry, sporting goods, chemical industry, medical field, and other sectors such as reinforced prefabricated components in construction due to their excellent vibration damping, low coefficient of expansion, lightweight skeleton, and minimal deformation.

They exhibit strong corrosion resistance, are easily impregnated with resin, offer good interlayer adhesion, adapt well to various curved surfaces, and enable high construction efficiency. Additionally, they possess properties such as fire resistance, flame retardancy, waterproofing, aging resistance, weather resistance, high strength, and high modulus. These materials are widely used as fiberglass base fabrics and reinforcing materials for engineering plastics, as well as in corrosion protection, thermal insulation, fire retardancy, and waterproofing applications. Examples include ship hulls, vehicle bodies, swimming pools, furniture, and fiberglass pipes.

1. Made by directly weaving glass fiber yarns with warp knitting machines, the fabric surface is resistant to deformation, offers excellent permeability, and is easy to handle, making it an ideal base material for both hand lay-up and mechanical molding processes.

2. The yarns are straight and aligned parallel to each other, allowing the full utilization of fiber strength and stiffness in the composite, which reduces material consumption and lowers costs. In contrast, conventional woven fabrics have wavy warp and weft yarns, contributing only about 50% to mechanical performance.

3. It enhances the fatigue resistance and damage tolerance of composites, thereby extending material service life and improving reliability.

4. It offers excellent design flexibility and blendability, providing broad material selection and design freedom. The type of yarn, arrangement angle, number of layers, and warp/weft density can be customized to produce tailored stitch-bonded fabrics in a single weaving process, maximizing material performance.
