Paper Bag Characteristics

1. Biodegradable, unlike plastic bags;

2. Commonly used plastic bags are made from polyethylene, which is derived from petroleum, a scarce energy resource. In contrast, paper bags are made from trees, a renewable resource.

3. The production process of paper bags can cause more severe water and air pollution issues;

4. Recycling paper bags also requires more energy consumption;

5. If discarded paper bags are disposed of in landfills, they are similarly difficult to degrade.

Paper Bags ● Materials used are primarily kraft paper for paper bags.

● Sources of kraft paper include: imported paper, domestic paper.

● Generally available in 3-layer, 4-layer, and 5-layer constructions.

● Can be coated with PE or laminated to enhance moisture resistance.

● Can be perforated to increase breathability and speed up filling.

● Classified by processing method, generally as follows:

(1) Pinch-bottom bags: Can be heat-sealed, can include crepe paper.

Paper Bags (2) Square-bottom bags: Easy to stand, convenient for palletizing.

(3) Valve bags: Pinch-bottom valve bags are simpler to process; square-bottom valve bags have a more attractive shape.

Paper-Plastic Bags ● Materials used are primarily paper-plastic composite materials.

● The inner material is woven plastic, the outer is kraft paper, bonded together with polyethylene under high temperature.

● Offers certain moisture resistance and good tensile strength.

● Generally available in single-layer, can also include inner kraft liner paper or PE.

● Can be perforated on the outer layer to speed up filling.
