Key Inspection Points for Inspectors at the Keyboard Inspection Site

On-Site Inspection of Keyboards

1. Preparation Before Inspection:

1) Confirm the computer and auxiliary equipment to be tested (e.g., USB ports plug and unplug normally).

2) Confirm computer testing software (ensure software interface consistency).

3) Determine the reliability testing tools for silk printing and label printing.


2. Product Inspection Items:

1) Full inspection items.

2) Special inspection items (select 3pcs samples).

3) Product process inspection and special inspection (select 1pc sample).


3. Full Inspection Items:

a. Outer carton inspection: must be clean and undamaged.

b. Color box packaging: must be clean and undamaged.

c. Product appearance and accessory inspection.

d. Flatness inspection (placed on a glass surface).

e. Functional LED indicator status inspection.

f. Basic key function test when connected to a computer.

4. Special Inspection Items (Select 3pcs Samples):

a. Operating current/standby current test (for wireless products with batteries).

b. Wireless frequency test (for wireless products/record actual measured frequency).

c. Low battery indicator or alarm function (record trigger voltage).

e. Effective working distance of wireless keyboard (record maximum distance).

f. System compatibility test: generally test the systems mentioned in the manual or packaging, provided by the factory and tested one by one.

g. CD driver installation: perform compatibility testing on the system, generally test the systems mentioned in the manual or packaging, provided by the factory and tested one by one; perform virus scan on CD files.

h. Barcode test: randomly select three color boxes and scan them with a barcode scanner.

i. Record accessory USB cable length, battery model, voltage, and other information in the report.


5. Product Process Inspection and Special Inspection (Select 1pc Sample):

a. Internal structure inspection: mainly includes two parts: main PCB board and main control chip.

b. Record the weight and dimensions of the outer carton in the report.

d. Perform drop test on the outer carton according to international standards.


Common Defects in Keyboards

1. Single or multiple keys non-functional (tested via software).

2. Unable to pair with wireless receiver.

3. Mismatched with wireless receiver (i.e., fixed pairing during production should be one-to-one).

4. Rubber feet脫落 or poorly installed.

5. Uneven when placed on a glass surface.

6. Severe assembly defects (cracked casing, missing screws, etc.).

7. Scratches, dirt, poor silk printing.

8. Contamination (glue, oil stains, etc.).

9. Minor packaging defects (scratches, sharp edges, etc.).
