Properties: Yellow or brown powder, specific gravity 1.44, soluble in tetrahydrofuran and hot acetone, insoluble in petroleum ether, chloroform, benzene, and water.
Applications: PDM serves as a multifunctional rubber additive. It can act as a vulcanizing agent during rubber processing, as a co-vulcanizing agent in peroxide systems, as well as an anti-scorching agent and tackifier. It is suitable for both general-purpose rubbers and specialty rubbers, as well as rubber-plastic blends. In natural rubber, when combined with sulfur, it prevents reversion, improves heat resistance, reduces heat generation, enhances aging resistance, and increases the adhesion between rubber and cord, as well as the modulus of vulcanized rubber. Used in the shoulder and cushion rubber of load-bearing tires, it addresses the issue of shoulder separation in bias-ply truck tires. It is also applicable for large, thick natural rubber products and various rubber miscellaneous goods. As an auxiliary vulcanizing agent, PDM significantly improves crosslinking performance and heat resistance, making it suitable for high-temperature vulcanization systems. It markedly reduces compression set, decreases the required amount of peroxide, prevents scorching during processing, and enhances the adhesion strength between rubber and cord or metal. As a sulfur-free vulcanizing agent, PDM can replace all sulfur-containing vulcanizing agents such as thiazoles and thiurams in cable rubber, solving the problem of copper wire and copper electrical components turning black due to the formation of copper sulfide when in contact with sulfur-containing vulcanizing agents. Dosage: 0.5-1.0 phr as an anti-scorching agent, 2-3 phr as a vulcanizing agent, 1.5 phr to improve compression set, and 0.5-5.0 phr to enhance adhesion strength.
Packaging: Kraft paper bags or cardboard drums. 25Kg/bag (drum).
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place. Packaged products should be protected from direct sunlight.
Note: This product can be oil-treated or granulated according to customer requirements.
