Properties: Light red powder, soluble in alcohol and acetone, insoluble in water, melting point greater than 135°C.
Applications: This product is used in natural rubber and various synthetic rubbers as a reactive non-extractable antioxidant. Due to the maleimide system's ability to accept free radicals and open double bonds during vulcanization, it forms cross-links that bond with the rubber, providing non-extractable anti-aging effects. These cross-links also exhibit high stability against thermal oxidation. Additionally, N-substituted derivatives of maleimide can act as vulcanizing agents. For example, when peroxides are added during vulcanization to initiate free radicals, graft polymerization occurs, leading to cross-linking. The resulting macromolecules are also difficult to extract.
Packaging: Kraft paper bags or paper drums. 25Kg/bag (drum).
Storage: Should be stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area. Packaged products must be kept away from direct sunlight.
