Product Introduction:

Epoxy glass flake anti-corrosion coating is a highly corrosion-resistant epoxy paint, composed of epoxy resin, glass flakes, anti-rust pigments and fillers, additives, solvents, etc., and is formulated with a curing agent to form a two-component epoxy glass flake paint.

The corrosion resistance of epoxy glass flake paint primarily comes from the glass flakes in its raw materials.

Main Characteristics:

The coating contains finely layered, densely arranged glass flakes that enhance corrosion resistance. It exhibits excellent resistance to water, boiling water, oil, high concentrations of acids, alkalis, and salts. It has good anti-fouling, anti-mold, and anti-corrosion properties. The film is hard, wear-resistant, and dense, withstanding corrosive dry and humid gases such as carbon monoxide and sulfur dioxide. This type of coating air-dries at room temperature, making it suitable for chemical resistance applications on steel structures and concrete in factories and on-site without drying equipment.

Product Applications:

Primer Compatibility:

◆ Epoxy glass flake primer, epoxy zinc-rich paint, epoxy mica iron oxide paint, inorganic zinc-rich paint, inorganic zinc silicate paint, epoxy iron red paint, etc.

Topcoat Compatibility:

◆ Epoxy paint, chlorinated rubber paint, epoxy asphalt paint, acrylic polyurethane paint, polyurethane paint, chlorosulfonated paint, fluorocarbon paint, alkyd paint.

Surface Treatment:

◆ For steel substrates, all oil, scale, rust, and old coatings must be completely removed. This can be achieved through shot blasting or sandblasting to meet Swedish rust removal standard Sa2.5, with a roughness of 30-70 μm. Manual rust removal is also acceptable, meeting Swedish standard ST3, with a roughness of 30-70 μm.

◆ Concrete substrates must not have any plaster layer or surface contaminants (including joints, around window frames, etc.).

◆ The substrate surface must be firm, free from looseness, cracks, or blistering, with flatness ≤2 mm. The substrate should be free of dust and adhered particles.

◆ For plaster and concrete substrates, the moisture content must not exceed 6%, and the pH must not be higher than 9. Newly plastered cement mortar walls require curing for at least 10 days in summer and 20 days in winter. Cast-in-place concrete walls require curing for at least 21 days in summer and 28 days in winter.

Application Conditions:

◆ Substrate temperature must be above 3°C, and relative humidity must be below 85%.

◆ When the substrate temperature is below 5°C, the curing reaction between epoxy resin and curing agent stops or slows down, so application is not recommended.

Coating Application:

◆ This product is a two-component coating. After opening the main component, stir it evenly, add the curing agent in proportion, mix thoroughly, and let it stand for 30 minutes. Then, add an appropriate amount of thinner to adjust to the application viscosity.

Remarks:
